Nitrogen

Inerting/Blanketing

Nitrogen is very widely used in the Petrochemicals Industry. Its inertness makes it suitable for a host of applications covering most aspects of manufacturing, processing, handling and shipping. Since it does not react with most materials, nitrogen is an excellent blanketing and purging gas that can be used to protect valuable products from harmful contaminants. One of its most important uses is to address flammability risks and explosion hazards in reactor vessels and storage tanks.

Nitrogen

Nitrogen's inertness and friendly environmental profile make it suitable for a host of applications. Since it does not react with most materials, nitrogen is an excellent inerting, blanketing and purging gas that can be used to protect valuable products from harmful contaminants. One of its most important uses is to eliminate flammability risks in reactor vessels and storage tanks. Nitrogen is supplied from a dedicated plant located at or near a customer's facility or via a pipeline network if one exists in the vicinity. The plant is owned, operated and managed by Air Products. Relatively smaller volumes of nitrogen are supplied via on-road liquid nitrogen trailers from Air Products' extensive manufacturing and distribution network.
