Carbon Dioxide

pH Neutralisation

Air Products’ Halia® CO2 neutralisation system can be utilised for wastewater pH control and provides an alternative to the use of mineral acids for reducing alkaline water pH. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is less prone to overdosing than sulphuric and other mineral acids and is safer to handle.

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable and slightly acidic gas. It is used in water and waste water treatment applications for pH control as well as remineralisation of water treated by reverse osmosis. For pH control, the carbon dioxide is a mineral acid substitute which is less susceptible to over-dosing and safer to handle. Carbon dioxide can also be supplied as a cryogenic liquid with a boiling point of -70°F (-57°C).
