Transporting your oxygen cylinders

Please follow these guidelines should you wish to transport your oxygen cylinders:

  1. Always inform your insurance company that you will be carrying oxygen.
  2. Never use oxygen in a fuel station and never smoke while using oxygen in the car.
  3. Ensure that your oxygen cylinders are secured safely in the boot of the vehicle.
  4. Never transport oxygen cylinders unsecured in the front or rear passenger seats.
  5. If transporting several portable oxygen cylinders always carry them in a green safety box. We can provide this box if needed, just call us on +353 (0)1 809 1800, LoCall 1850 240202 (ROI only) or Freephone 0800 328 5875 (Northern Ireland only) between 8.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
  6. Do not store oxygen cylinders in your vehicle.

Transporting your oxygen concentrator

The concentrator should be securely fastened in an upright position behind the passenger seat. It should never be placed lying down on the back seat or in the boot of the vehicle.

Caution:
Always take care when moving your oxygen equipment as it may weigh in excess of 20kgs.
