How do I get my oxygen?

To receive oxygen it is necessary for your doctor or respiratory specialist to complete a prescription detailing the type of oxygen you require and the flow rate you need to operate at.

Do you have a medical card?

If you are a medical card holder, your oxygen service will be paid for by the Primary, Community & Continuing Care office (PCCC) of the HSE.

If you are a medical card holder, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Your doctor or respiratory specialist will complete a prescription
  2. This prescription will be submitted to your local HSE PCCC
  3. When and if this is approved, an order for the delivery of oxygen equipment will be placed with Air Products
  4. Delivery of your oxygen equipment will be scheduled within two working days
  5. We will contact you or your carer to arrange a suitable day to deliver your oxygen equipment
  6. Our technician will telephone you on the arranged day to confirm delivery of your oxygen equipment
  7. The technician will then complete a safety survey to ascertain the appropriate location for your oxygen equipment.

If you are NOT a medical card holder
If not, all our home oxygen equipment is classified under the drug refund scheme as a medical device. To check your suitability for inclusion on this scheme, contact your local pharmacist or your local HSE community care office.
